"TWICE THE RESOLUTION OF YOUTUBE"?!?
1/2/2009
A friend recently wrote in a mass-e-mailing that TV Humboldt...
"...is unique because it features videos at twice the resolution of YouTube videos, allowing you to view the content at full size without losing quality."
It's nice to get the free plug, but we never actually claimed to have twice YouTube's picture quality.
(Just wanted to mention that in case anyone's thinking we're big liars).
No, the resolution on the TV Humboldt player happens to be exactly the same as YouTube's because, well... it IS YouTube's player (with some modifications).
BUT KEEP COMING BACK, BECAUSE YOU'LL VERY SOON START SEEING CONTENT ON OUR CHANNEL THAT REALLY DOES HAVE A WAY BETTER PICTURE QUALITY THAN THEIRS!
You see, there are big plans for TV Humboldt, and if we can pull it off, we eventually won't need YouTube at all anymore, because we'll have our own local video-sharing community, tied in to the channel, that will provide local video producers with much better video delivery services than YouTube.
Services like this amazingly high-quality new online TV channel we're already providing to North Coast Earth First! (click here to see it)
Thanks to NCEF! for sharing their video content with us, which helps us develop these services so we can offer them to the rest of Humboldt soon -- and not just to environmental causes (We want ALL voices heard!).
Be sure to check back often, so you won't miss stuff like...
OUR FIRST TV HUMBOLDT LINE-UP USING OUR OWN "BETTER-THAN YOUTUBE" VIDEO PLAYER, coming in January,
or other such announcements that will help keep you updated on the unfolding of our secret long-range plans to help revolutionize the mass media system (in Humboldt and beyond). This revolution will make media more free, more fair, more diverse, more interactive, and more community-oriented.
The plan could also help transform Humboldt into a thriving hub of the emerging independent media industry! (
